Drum Making

Making gourd drums dates back thousands of years. In this class you will begin with a raw gourd & by the end of the day you will have completed a finished professional instrument. Your drum will bring out your primal rhythms. After cleaning the gourd & preparing the drum head for stretching,you will lace the drum & apply a simple finish to the exterior. Final fees will depend on size of gourd the student picks. Shapes of gourds available will vary. Workshop requires minium 5 hours. Suggested start time 10:00. Class fee $50. Material fee according to size of drum used.
